Good Heart Catering was founded in 2016 and since then it has been LA's most renowned catering company. From small gatherings to large outdoor stadiums, their team of dedicated chefs serves it all. For delivery and online orders, they had a website with Odoo v8. However, they needed a new website with advanced features and also wanted to migrate it to the latest version. And Biztech assisted them with an Odoo v12 responsive website.

Project Highlights

The client wanted to have a responsive online ordering website that matches the technological trends and has advanced eCommerce features like Product listing and custom product attributes, order scheduling planner, multiple payment options, location based delivery calculation, etc. Additionally, they wanted to migrate the website to Odoo v12 with a new look. Modifying the 3rd party modules present in Odoo v8 website to Odoo v12 was also part of their requirement.

To help the client with fast delivery and wider reach, we developed a responsive website with:

  • Frontend customization
  • Backend configuration
  • Modules modification

Frontend Customization

  • We developed a website with all the eCommerce elements starting from latest design to easy sorting and categorization of products, shopping cart, payment and checkout.
  • We added an order bar using which customers can quickly add their order details like delivery, pickup with an integrated GPS for location detection. To help them manage their order delivery dates, we integrated Delivery Date Scheduler from our extension store AppJetty.
  • Product page was also customized to have a modal view for listing of products, product details and attributes. To display custom attributes, we integrated Odoo custom options extension.
  • For quick payment, we configured Stripe Payment Method and connected it with the system.
  • Marketing was sorted by integrating Odoo SEO Suite from our extension store AppJetty.
  • An auto location based delivery charge feature was integrated with the system. Using this, customers would be automatically charged based on their location.

Backend configuration

  • We customized the dashboard for deliveries. Now, instead of having to check for orders and deliveries from their respective windows, admin can manage all the deliveries from dashboard along with their payments, product details, refund processing etc.
  • Admin can view all the sales reports and stats on the dashboard.

Modules Modification

As per the client’s requirement, we upgraded the following modules from Odoo v8 to Odoo v12.

  • Product Label Module
  • Bundle Management
  • Invoice Delivery Date
  • Payment Module
  • Tree View Click

For bundle management, we modified their existing module of Webkul and made it compatible with Odoo v12.

Apart from these, we worked on all the basic must have features of the eCommerce store.


  • A responsive website helped them with more customers as ordering via desktop or mobile phone was possible.
  • Migration from Odoo v8 to Odoo v12 provided them intuitive interface, advanced features, optimized loading time, and many more.
